Massive Fire Breaks Out Near ESIC Hospital in Baddi Industrial Area, Uttarakhand Worker Injured

A devastating fire broke out unexpectedly on Tuesday evening at Mark Enterprises, a manufacturing unit situated near ESIC Hospital in the Baddi Industrial Area of Katha, Himachal Pradesh. Within moments, hundreds of people gathered around the industrial premises as flames engulfed the area. The incident resulted in the destruction of goods worth crores kept inside the industry. Additionally, one worker fell victim to the fire and was swiftly taken to a private hospital in Baddi. The worker, identified as Suresh from Uttarakhand, was residing in the area.

Mark Enterprises is involved in the production of ceiling fans and other electronic products. The fire incident occurred around 5 PM. Upon receiving the information, the fire department team rushed to the scene with three vehicles. Witnessing the intensity of the blaze, two vehicles were called from Nalagarh, one from Vardhman Birla, and another from the TVS industry.

Efforts were underway to fully control the fire. ASP Baddi, Ashok Verma, along with his team, arrived at the scene to manage the situation. Tehsildar Baddi, Rajesh Kumar, also reached the site. According to information, the fire originated in the paint shop of the industry. Subsequently, the fire spread to the chemicals stored in the paint shop, leading to a rapid escalation of the blaze. Fire department vehicles were tirelessly working to extinguish the fire.

Approximately 800 employees work in the industry. Fortunately, the fire broke out after the end of the shift, and around 80% of the people working inside the company had already left. Those who remained were safely evacuated from the premises.

As the situation unfolds, it becomes crucial to assess the extent of the damage caused by the fire and ensure adequate support for the affected workers and the industry as a whole. Investigations will likely be conducted to determine the cause of the fire and implement measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
