Massive Strike at IGMC: Over 500 Workers Protest Dismissals

More than 500 outsourced workers at Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital (IGMC), Shimla, staged a strike, severely impacting services at the state’s largest healthcare facility. The workers are protesting the termination of 132 outsourced employees, including essential staff like sweepers and ward attendants.

The protesters accused the hospital administration of stripping numerous families of their livelihoods with these dismissals. They demanded immediate action to reinstate the terminated employees and ensure job security for outsourced workers in the future.
