Monsoon to Hit Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, and Chandigarh Soon: IMD Predicts Rain and Relief from Heatwave
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted the imminent arrival of the monsoon in Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, and Chandigarh within the next three to four days. Weak western disturbances are becoming active in the northern mountainous regions, leading to potential rainfall in the southern and southeastern districts of Himachal Pradesh by June 26. Some areas have already experienced light showers, providing some relief from the heat but also bringing humidity. The weather in Haryana is expected to remain variable over the next four to five days, with a heatwave alert issued for eight districts. The IMD has also issued a yellow alert for thunderstorms and rain in several districts of Himachal Pradesh. On June 24, Sirsa recorded the highest maximum temperature at 42°C, while Karnal had the lowest at 28.8°C. Rain is anticipated in Haryana and Chandigarh until June 30, bringing much-needed relief and benefiting farmers and horticulturists in the region. Pre-monsoon showers have already begun in Kullu, Himachal Pradesh, providing a significant respite from the heat and aiding agricultural activities.
