After the defeat of BJP in all the four seats in Himachal Pradesh by-elections recently, the party has got another setback as Bharatiya Janata Party's state vice-president Kripal Parmar has resigned from his post.
“I Kripal Parmar, vice-president, Himachal BJP, am sending my resignation from the party post. Kindly accept it. I will explain the reason in separate letters,” he posted on Facebook in a letter addressed to state party president Suresh Kashyap.

There is a lot of discussion in the political circles with Parmar's resignation letter just before the BJP State Working Committee meeting
BJP had fielded Baldev Thakur in place of Kripal Parmar in the recently held by-election to the Fatehpur assembly seat in Kangra district by cutting Kirpal’s ticket. Parmar said that even when the party cut his ticket, he kept mum. Though he did not contest as an independent after chief minister Jai Ram Thakur persuaded him, but he stayed away from the campaigning.
BJP candidate Baldev Thakur lost the byelection to Bhawani Singh Pathania of the Congress by more than 5,000 votes. He said that he was humiliated in one way or the other . He said that he cannot bear the humiliation any more, hence has resigned from his post.
Kripal Parmar is considered very close to former Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal. Parmar was a Rajya Sabha MP from 2002-2006 and is considered in the list of Kangra's tallest leaders in BJP. He has also served in the state as the vice-chairman of the State Transport Corporation.
The party and the chief minister are yet to respond to his resignation.
