Khalistani Flag Episode………One accused of Dharamshala Vidhan Sabha incident arrested: CM Jairam Thakur

 Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said  today that the State Police has made a major breakthrough in the Dharamshala Vidhan Sabha episode by apprehending one accused Harvir Singh S/o Rajinder Singh from Punjab today morning. He said that the accused has confessed to have put the Khalistani Flag and graffiti on the outer wall of HP Vidhan Sabha complex at Dharamshala.

Chief Minister said that the search for the second accused Vaneet Singh jointly by H.P. Police and Punjab Police was on and he would also be arrested soon.

Jai Ram Thakur said that the State police, in this process, has followed “rule of law” and “due process” and got the “search and arrest warrant' from the Competent Court in Dharamshala.

Khalistan flags were found tied on the main gate and slogans scrawled on the walls of the Himachal Pradesh legislative assembly complex, in Dharamsala  on Sunday, 8 th May. The Himachal Pradesh Police booked Sikhs for Justice leader Gurpatwant Singh Pannun under the Unlawful (Activities) Prevention Act and sealed the state’s borders in response.

Earlier the HP DGP also set up a seven-member Special Investigation Team to expeditiously investigate the case The members of the SIT are Kangra’s Additional Superintendent of Police Puneet Raghu, Jawalaji’s Sub-Divisional Police Officer Chander Paul, Mandi’s Deputy SP (CID) Sushant Sharma, Jawali SDPO Sidharath Sharma, besides the Dharamshala police station’s SHO and the Yol police post in-charge, the DGP said in his statement.
