A Spokesperson of the Health Department informed here today that there are 189559 Covid positive cases in the State out of which 13040 are active cases till today.
He said that an analysis of the last five weeks shows that the cases steadily increased from 10th to 16th of May, 2021 and the cases reached 28817 during this week. Thereafter a regular decline with 18794 cases from 17th to 23rd May 2021 and 10431 cases in the last week i.e. 24th to 30th May 2021 has been observed
He said that District Bilaspur, Kinnaur, Shimla, Sirmaur, Solan saw their peaks one week before the State achieved its peak i.e. 3rd to 9th May 2021. District Lahaul and Spiti had its peak 26th April to 02nd May and the number of cases has been steadily declining and has reached to 79 last week. District Chamba, Hamirpur, Kangra, Kullu, Mandi, and Una registered their peaks on 10th to 16th May 2021 and hence, contributed to the State peak of Covid positive cases.
He further added that there has been a decrease in the number of cases in the last two weeks across all the districts of the State. He appealed to the citizens to follow Covid Appropriate Behaviour i.e. Use of masks, social distancing, and have hygiene so that a resurgence is not seen in the disease pattern.
