One parliamentary and three assembly constituencies go for by poll today in HP

The Himachal will witness the polling in by elections of Mandi parliamentary constituency today where Congress has fielded   Pratibha Singh ,the  wife of former CM  Vir Bhadra Singh making it an important battle field. Himachal is also voting today in by elections of  three assembly constituencies namely Fatehpur,Jubble Kotkhai  and Arki.
 
Out of these Fateh pur and Arki was earlier held by Congress and the Mandi and Jubble Kotkhaay by BJP.
 
It shall be a litmus test for BJP lead government of HP before 2021 state elections.
 
Bypolls to three Lok Sabha and 29 Assembly seats - across 13 states and the UT of Dadra & Nagar Haveli - will be held today. Almost all the Assembly bypolls are needed after incumbent MLAs defected to join the BJP. Votes will be counted on Tuesday.
 
The three Lok Sabha bypolls are in Himachal Pradesh (Mandi), Madhya Pradesh (Khandwa) and Dadra & Nagar Haveli. All three seats are vacant after the MPs died. Mandi MP Ramswaroop Sharma and Khandwa MP Nand Kumar Singh Chauhan died in March, while Mohan Delkar, the Dadra MP, died, allegedly by suicide, a month earlier. Mandi and Khandwa were held by the BJP, while Mr Delkar was an independent MP.
