Rashtriya Military Schools, formerly King George's Schools, established in 1925, are among the oldest residential schools of the country catering primarily to the educational needs of the soldiers of the three defence services. The primary aim is to prepare the cadets for joining the defence services as officers.
These five Schools under the MoD are located at Ajmer, Bangalore, Belgaum, Chail, and Dholpur. Their achievements have been spectacular on their passing out parade held on 12th June 2021 with 19 cadets being commissioned from Indian Military Academy, Dehradun and 1 from Military College of Telecommunication Engineering (MCTE), Mhow.
At IMA Dehradun, Battalion Under Officer (now Lt) Mukesh Kumar from Ajmer was awarded the Coveted SWORD OF HONOUR and also won the Silver Medal for standing Second in the overall order of merit while Academy Under Officer (now Lt) Deepak Singh from Bangalore was the Parade Commander and won the President's Gold Medal for standing first in the overall order of merit.
