The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday raided 14 locations in Punjab and Haryana in connection with the attacks on the Indian Consulate in San Francisco in March and July 2023. The raids were conducted to gather information and evidence related to the attacks, which were carried out by Khalistani supporters.
The NIA teams raided locations in the cities of Moga, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Gurdaspur, Mohali, and Patiala in Punjab, and Kurukshetra and Yamunanagar in Haryana. The raids resulted in the seizure of digital data, including information related to the accused persons, as well as other incriminating documents.
The NIA is investigating the attacks to identify and prosecute all the criminals and their associates involved. The attacks on the Indian Consulate in San Francisco were serious incidents of criminal trespass, vandalism, damage to public property, attempt to cause harm to consular officials, arson, and attempt to set fire to the building.
The NIA is committed to bringing to justice all those responsible for the attacks and sending a strong message to such anti-India elements.
