No stone will be left unturned for the upliftment of women in the State: Chief Minister*

Chandigarh, August 6 – Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal said that the state government will leave no stone unturned to fulfill their every expectation for the upliftment and advancement of women. The Central Government and State Government are working dedicatedly in this direction under the leadership of Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi. For this, the state government has implemented various important schemes.
Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal was addressing as Chief Guest at GVM Girls College, Sonepat on Saturday, which was organized under the aegis of the BJP’s Mahila Morcha unit. The Chief Minister said that the participation of women in the governance system is also being increased. A system of 33 percent reservation has been made in politics.
Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal said that Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi has also opened the way for women to join the army, for which he has formed a women’s commission. Steps are being taken to give priority in giving employment to women to increase their participation in household chores while fixing the quota of women in PDS in the state. There are 51 thousand self-help groups of women in the state, to which more than 5 lakh families are connected. Women are given loans up to 5 lakhs. VITA centres have been set up in the state in which 151 centers are run by women. Also, 500 Harhit stores have been set up in which women are being given priority. Women from more than 100 self-help groups are also working in the Atal Canteen built for the poor people.
The Chief Minister said that good schemes are being run for women. Women are employed in 1,889 facilitation centres of banks. Women’s Debt Revolving Fund has been increased from Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 20,000. He added that loans worth Rs. 796 crore have been given to Self Help Groups.
Through the fairs organized under Mukhyamantri Antyodaya Parivar Utthan Yojna in order to increase the family income of such deprived families having income up to Rs. 1 lakh in which women have been given priority. He said that 4,000 Anganwadi centres in the state have been converted into play-way schools to improve the standard of Anganwadi centres. Also 500 new creches have been opened to help working women. For poor families, an amount of Rs. 21,000 is given on the birth of a daughter, which becomes Rs. 1 lakh on attaining the age of 18 years. Under Mukhyamantri Vivah Shagun Yojna, a financial assistance of Rs. 51,000 is given and Rs. 71,000 is given to scheduled caste families.
Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal said that Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi launched the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign in 2015 in Panipat, which yielded successful results and improved the image. Now the sex ratio in the state has reached 930 per year. He gave detailed information about Mukhyamantri Kishori Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Matritva Yojana, Indradhanush Yojana, Ujjwala Yojana etc. He said that 1.25 lakh gas connections have been given under the Ujjwala scheme in the state. Helpline numbers 1091 and 112 have been strengthened to promote women safety. One stop center and women police stations have been started in every district. The number of women police has also been increased from 6 percent to 10 percent, which is targeted to take it to 14-15 percent. The government is dedicated to women’s education, under which women’s colleges are being established every 20 km. 67 new colleges were opened in the state, out of which 42 were opened only for girls while co-education was arranged in the remaining 25 colleges. Also 29 new ITIs were established. During this, he also praised the successful performance of women players in sports.
