Paragliding World Cup Task Cancelled Due to Adverse Weather Conditions
Dharamsala/Billing (Arvind Sharma)5/11/24
The Paragliding World Cup (PWC India-2024) faced a challenge today as poor weather conditions led to the cancellation of the scheduled task. According to a statement from the spokesperson of the Billing Paragliding Association, the technical committee had initially set a 148-kilometer course for Tuesday, November 5. All pilots successfully took off from Billing at the designated window time. However, deteriorating visibility and unfavorable weather forced the organizers to call the pilots back, prioritizing their safety. All participants landed safely at the designated Bir landing site, and today’s task was subsequently canceled.
The Paragliding World Cup event, which began last week in Bir Billing, Kangra, is expected to conclude on November 9.
