Prime Minister Launches Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra from Khunti, Jharkhand

In a monumental event, the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra from Khunti, Jharkhand on November 15, 2023. The launch ceremony, broadcast live at Punjab Raj Bhawan, was graced by the esteemed presence of Governor of Punjab & Administrator, UT Chandigarh Shri Banwarilal Purohit.

• Prime Minister’s Vision and Objectives: The Prime Minister articulated the transformative vision and objectives of the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, with a specific emphasis on uplifting the tribal population while concurrently preserving their rich cultural heritage.
• Presence of Union Minister and Chief Minister: Insightful speeches were delivered by Union Minister Shri Arjun Munda and Chief Minister Shri Hemant Soren during the launch event.
• Unveiling of Significant Projects: The Prime Minister unveiled several significant projects, including the PM PVTG Mission, the release of PM-KISAN Samman Nidhi installment, and the initiation of various infrastructural developments through foundation stone laying.
• Dedication of Milestone Projects: Milestone projects dedicated to the nation, such as the Permanent Campus of IIM, Ranchi, and achieving 100% electrification of the Rail Network in Jharkhand, underscored the gravity of the government’s commitment.
• Flagging Off of the Yatra: The Viksit Bharat Yatra was ceremoniously flagged off from the dais, accompanied by the screening of short films highlighting key developmental initiatives.

Live Screening at Punjab Raj Bhawan

The live screening at Punjab Raj Bhawan, especially in the presence of Shri Banwarilal Purohit, Governor of Punjab & Administrator UT Chandigarh served as a powerful symbol of unity and collective determination. It emphasized the government’s steadfast commitment to the comprehensive development of Jharkhand and the entire nation. Senior officers of the UTs were also present during the screening.

Significance of the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra

The Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra is a nationwide initiative aimed at reaching out to citizens who are eligible for various central schemes but have not benefitted so far. The yatra will focus on districts with significant tribal populations and will cover all districts across the country by January 25, 2024.
