Prime Minister Narendra Modi Inaugurates New Integrated Terminal at Veer Savarkar International Airport in Port Blair
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated the new integrated terminal building at Veer Savarkar International Airport in Port Blair, Andaman & Nicobar Islands. The terminal, built at a cost of Rs. 710 Crore, has three times the capacity of the previous one and showcases the island’s biodiversity. The event took place in hybrid mode, with the Prime Minister remotely inaugurating the building and unveiling a statue of Veer Savarkar, while other dignitaries were present at the airport. Minister of Civil Aviation and Steel, Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, highlighted the airport’s sustainable features and announced plans for additional airports and water aerodromes in the region. Veer Savarkar International Airport serves as the gateway to the picturesque Andaman & Nicobar Islands, offering various water-based activities and showcasing the region’s history and culture.
