Punjab Chief Minister to Hand Over Service Confirming Letters to 12,500 Contractual Teachers

Chandigarh- On Friday, July 28, 2023, Punjab Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Mann will be personally handing over service confirming letters to 12,500 contractual teachers employed in the Education Department. This move comes as a significant step towards regularizing their services and improving their employment conditions.
The announcement was made by the School Education Minister, Harjot Singh Bains, who highlighted Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s active involvement in overseeing all processes related to confirming the services of contractual employees in the education sector of Punjab.
The service confirmation letters will be provided to various categories of teachers, including Education Providers, Special Inclusive Teachers (ETT, NTT, and BED), and I.E. Volunteers. These teachers have been working on meager salaries for an extended period, and this regularization will provide them with more stability and benefits.
The initiative reflects the government’s commitment to improve the conditions of contractual workers and enhance the quality of education in the state. The move is expected to bring relief and improved job security to the teaching community in Punjab.
