Punjab Congress Party Leaders Hold Dharna in Faridkot to Combat Drug Menace
Faridkot, October 12, 2023: Prominent leaders of the Punjab Congress Party held a dharna in Faridkot on October 12, 2023, to protest against the escalating drug menace in the state. The dharna was attended by PPCC Chief Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, Leader of Opposition Partap Singh Bajwa, Former Punjab CM Charanjit Singh Channi, Former Deputy CM of Punjab Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, and former Faridkot MLA Kikki Dhillon, among other senior party leaders.
Addressing the gathering, Raja Warring expressed anguish over the deteriorating situation in Punjab due to the rising drug-related cases. He remarked that the drug problem in the state had surged four times during the past year and a half, despite the Aam Aadmi Party’s promises to eradicate it within their first four months in power.
Warring also accused past Chief Ministers of the state of deceiving the people by issuing false statements and not making genuine efforts to eradicate the drug menace. He emphasized the need to protect the youth of Punjab from the clutches of drug addiction, as they are the future of the state.
Raja Warring further urged the Aam Aadmi Party government to take resolute action against the drug menace and respond to the people of the state. He concluded his address by expressing gratitude to all those in attendance and pledging to continue the fight against drugs until the problem is eradicated.
