Punjab Government Under Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann Awards 36,796 Merit-Based Government Jobs
Chandigarh, October 5:
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab government has successfully awarded appointment letters to 36,796 deserving youths across various departments, reaffirming its commitment to provide government jobs to the state’s youth.
Addressing a gathering following the issuance of appointment letters to 272 newly appointed cooperative inspectors in the cooperative department, Chief Minister Mann emphasized that all 36,796 appointments were made solely on merit. He highlighted that a transparent and highly competitive examination process was followed to select these candidates, and the government’s primary agenda has always been to empower the youth through employment opportunities.
Mann emphasized that all candidates were chosen by the Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) based on their merit, marking a historic opportunity for youth to secure government jobs based on their abilities. He stressed that the government is determined to make up for the 70-year backlog in job creation for the youth of Punjab.
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann handed over appointment letters to 272 newly appointed cooperative inspectors on October 5, 2023. The Chief Minister said that the state government has completed the process of giving appointment letters to 36,796 youths in various departments and is continuing the campaign to provide government jobs to the youth of Punjab.
The Chief Minister asked the newly recruited youths to use their positions for the good of the people instead of harassing them. He said that the state government is committed to ensure the welfare of the youth and therefore efforts are being made. Reiterating the government’s firm commitment to public welfare, Mann said that this noble work will be completed in every way.
Congratulating the newly recruited officers and their families, the Chief Minister hoped that they would perform their duties with full sincerity and diligence. He said that these days are special because the previous governments did not pay any attention to giving jobs to the youth without bribery. Mann said that our government has ensured that only eligible and promising youths are selected purely on the basis of merit.
The Chief Minister expressed delight in the significant representation of females securing government jobs, citing an example of 181 male and 91 female candidates recruited as cooperative inspectors. Mann underscored the government’s commitment to prioritize female education and emphasized the positive results of these efforts.
Furthermore, Chief Minister Mann announced plans to open eight state-of-the-art training centers for competitive examinations to assist the youth in preparing for various competitive exams at the state and national levels. He reiterated the government’s aim to place youth in key positions to serve the nation.
Mann urged the newly appointed youth to utilize their positions for the betterment of the people and assured the government’s unwavering commitment to their welfare. He emphasized the government’s dedication to public welfare and the pursuit of eliminating corruption.
The Chief Minister highlighted Punjab’s emergence as a preferred investment destination in India, with investments totaling INR 50,871 crore expected to generate job opportunities for 2.89 lakh youth. Mann stated that the state would witness further investments, stimulating economic activities.
In his address, Chief Minister Mann declared a war against corruption and vowed to hold corrupt leaders accountable for their actions, recovering ill-gotten wealth for the benefit of the public. He called on the youth to contribute to Punjab’s socio-economic development and invited them to be an integral part of the state’s progress.
The event marked a significant milestone as the government prioritized merit-based appointments, signaling a shift towards transparency, fairness, and youth empowerment in Punjab.
