Punjab Local Government Minister reviews development projects
Chandigarh, October 6: Local Government Minister Balkar Singh held a review meeting with Municipal Corporation Commissioners from Amritsar, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Patiala, Phagwara, and Mohali. He discussed various topics related to development projects, including the Smart Cities Mission, Amrut-24×7 water supply, reuse of treated wastewater, CBG bio-methanation plants, C&D waste management plants, and legacy waste treatment. He also reviewed the financial status of Swachh Bharat Mission 1.0 and Swachh Bharat Mission 2.0.
The Minister urged officials to expedite ongoing projects, increase transparency and accountability, and ensure the optimal use of resources. He also emphasized the importance of working in coordination with each other to achieve the goal of making Punjab a prosperous state.
The Local Government Department is working to advance the development agenda in Punjab. The primary objective of the Punjab government, led by Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, is to provide basic facilities and a clean, pollution-free environment to the people of the state.
