Punjab Police Arrests Two Drug Smugglers After 40km Hot Chase; 2kg Heroin Recovered

The Punjab Police arrested two drug smugglers after a hot chase of 40 kilometers on the Indo-Pak border. The police recovered 2 kilograms of heroin from their possession.
The smugglers have been identified as Arshdeep Singh alias Arsh of Nurpur village in Ferozepur and Rajpreet Singh alias Raj of Maloke village in Ferozepur. The police also recovered their SUV Mahindra Scorpio car.
The police said that they received secret inputs about the smuggling of heroin and started chasing the Scorpio vehicle from Bhikhiwind. The entire district police was immediately mobilized and all exit points of the district were sealed off.
The hot pursuit ended after 40 kilometers, when the smugglers were unable to cross a checkpoint laid by the police at Chohla Sahib. The police apprehended them and recovered 2 kilograms of heroin from their car. One of the smugglers injured his ankle while trying to jump out of the moving car to escape.
The police said that they are investigating the case further and expect to make more arrests in the coming days.
