Punjab Police Busts Interstate Crime Syndicate; Kingpin and Accomplices Arrested with Weapons

In a major crackdown aimed at ensuring the safety and security of Punjab, as directed by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Amritsar Commissionerate Police successfully dismantled an interstate organized crime syndicate with the arrest of its kingpin, Jai Sharma alias Sukha Pistol Ambarsarya, along with four accomplices from a flat in Kharar. The accomplices were identified as Nikhil Sharma alias Lala, Moni, Arpit Thakur, and Karan Sharma, hailing from Amritsar and Himachal Pradesh. Sukha Pistol, notorious for his criminal history involving seven cases under the Arms Act, snatching, and theft, was found in possession of two .32 bore pistols, three magazines, and eight live cartridges. According to Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab Gaurav Yadav, the police acted on reliable intelligence that the suspects had procured illicit weapons from Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh. The Police Station Civil Line Amritsar, under the supervision of ADCP City-2 Abhimanyu Rana, tracked their movements and swiftly conducted a raid resulting in their arrest and the recovery of firearms and ammunition. DGP Yadav revealed that the syndicate was plotting an imminent gang war, which was thwarted by the timely intervention of the police. The accused have been booked under the newly introduced section 111 (Organized Crime) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and section 25(7) of the Arms Act. Commissioner of Police Amritsar Ranjit Singh Dhillon highlighted that the syndicate was deeply involved in criminal activities such as theft, snatching, and arms trafficking. Further investigations are underway to uncover the syndicate’s broader network and trace the Madhya Pradesh-based arms suppliers. More arrests and recoveries are anticipated as the investigation progresses. This operation underscores Punjab Police’s commitment to maintaining law and order and preventing organized crime, aligning with the state’s vision of a secure environment for its residents. #PunjabPolice #CrimeSyndicateBust #BhagwantSinghMann #SukhaPistolArrest #OrganizedCrime #LawAndOrder #PublicSafety #InterstateCrime #AmritsarPolice #GangWarPrevention
