Punjab Revolutionizes Healthcare Access with New Mobile App for Ayushman Bharat Mukh Mantri Sehat Bima Yojana

In a major push to enhance healthcare accessibility, Punjab Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Balbir Singh launched the ‘State Health Agency Punjab’ mobile app, allowing citizens to check their eligibility for the Ayushman Bharat Mukh Mantri Sehat Bima Yojana and access information about empaneled public and private hospitals right from their phones. This initiative benefits 1.68 crore people in Punjab, with around 88 lakh individuals already holding e-cards. The scheme uniquely extends coverage to additional groups like J-form farmers, small traders, smart ration cardholders, construction workers, and accredited journalists, covering nearly 45 lakh families. The app eliminates the need to visit hospitals or service centers for eligibility checks, marking a significant step towards digital empowerment and health inclusion in Punjab.
