Rahul Gandhi Accuses PM Modi of Favoring Corporates, Ignoring Farmers and the Poor at Naraingarh Rally
At a rally in Naraingarh, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accusing him of prioritizing corporate interests over the well-being of India’s poor and farmers. He alleged that Modi is funneling money from the pockets of the common people into the accounts of his wealthy corporate friends, most notably Adani, while leaving the poor and middle class struggling.
Gandhi emphasized that while respect and dignity are essential, financial security is just as crucial. “Respect is important, but without money in your pockets for essentials like education, healthcare, and your children’s future, respect alone won’t sustain you,” Rahul remarked. He stressed that the ongoing economic policies are stripping the poor of their financial independence. He stated, “If Modi ji keeps respecting you 24 hours a day but empties your pockets at the same time, that respect won’t feed you.”
He pointed out that while Adani’s wealth continues to grow, the financial conditions of the average Indian are worsening under the BJP government. Gandhi also raised concerns about farmers, referencing the controversial farm laws that sparked nationwide protests. “If the farm laws were truly for the benefit of the farmers, why did we see them protesting on the streets?” he asked, highlighting the ongoing struggle of farmers to secure fair prices for their produce.
Additionally, Gandhi criticized the Agnipath scheme, which he claimed deprives military recruits of long-term financial security by eliminating pensions. He argued that this policy is another way the Modi government is cutting corners at the expense of ordinary citizens.
Rahul Gandhi also condemned the Prime Minister for his refusal to waive farmers’ debts, drawing a sharp contrast with the corporate sector. “If Modi ji is unwilling to waive the debts of struggling farmers, why should corporate loans be waived so easily?” he questioned, further intensifying his critique of the BJP’s pro-business policies.
Gandhi’s remarks reflect his ongoing efforts to position the Congress party as the protector of the poor, farmers, and laborers, while portraying the BJP as a government that caters to the interests of large corporations. As Haryana prepares for elections, these issues are likely to play a significant role in shaping public opinion.
