Rahul Gandhi Leads Roadshow in Bahadurgarh, Urges People to Oust BJP in Haryana Elections
Saptrishi Soni:
In a high-energy campaign event, former Congress president and MP Rahul Gandhi, alongside Rohtak MP Deepender Hooda, held a massive roadshow in Bahadurgarh on Tuesday. The rally, part of the Congress party’s Assembly election campaign in Haryana, attracted a large crowd as Gandhi appealed to voters to support Congress and remove the ruling BJP from power.
State Congress president Udai Bhan also joined the leaders at the roadshow, which saw enthusiastic participation from Congress supporters and local residents. Bahadurgarh’s famous ‘pakodas’ were served to the Congress leader, highlighting the local flavor of the event. Gandhi’s visit to Bahadurgarh marks the second day of his tour in Haryana, a state crucial for the party’s revival in the upcoming Assembly polls.
Rahul Gandhi, in his address, emphasized the need for change in the state and accused the BJP government of failing to meet the aspirations of the people. “Haryana deserves better governance, and the Congress is committed to fulfilling that promise. The BJP has only brought division and hardship to the people,” said Gandhi.
After the roadshow in Bahadurgarh, Gandhi visited Bamdoli village in the Bahadurgarh Assembly segment. Here, Congress candidate and outgoing MLA Rajendra Joon is facing stiff competition in a multi-cornered contest, which includes Congress rebel Rajesh Joon and BJP’s candidate Dinesh Kaushik. Gandhi’s presence at the event is seen as a significant boost for Rajendra Joon’s campaign, as the contest in this constituency is closely watched.
The Congress leader also took the opportunity to highlight the party’s “Vijay Sankalp,” a call for victory and a commitment to building a prosperous Haryana. His roadshow and meetings were part of the larger “Vijay Sankalp Rally” organized by the Congress to energize its base and reach out to undecided voters.
Rahul Gandhi’s public appearances in Haryana come at a time when the Congress party is making concerted efforts to regain power in the state, banking on the leadership of the Hooda family, who have considerable influence in the region. Deepender Hooda’s strong presence in Rohtak and Rahul Gandhi’s active campaigning are being seen as a critical combination in the party’s bid to secure victory.
As the Assembly elections draw closer, the Congress is looking to build momentum through rallies and grassroots engagement, with a clear focus on mobilizing voters and countering the BJP’s narrative.
