Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who is currently on a trip to the United States, launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his party, the BJP. During his address at the Javits Center, where he spoke to Indian diaspora, Rahul Gandhi accused PM Modi and the BJP of never discussing the future and always blaming others for their failures in the past. While addressing the audience, Rahul Gandhi observed a moment of silence for the victims of the Odisha train accident, where more than 270 people lost their lives.
There have been calls for the resignation of Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw following the Odisha rail tragedy. Rahul Gandhi, referring to the incident, stated, “I remember a train accident, but the Congress never said that the train accident happened because of the fault of the British. The Congress minister said, ‘It is my responsibility, and I am resigning.'” Without explicitly mentioning the Congress minister’s name, Rahul Gandhi highlighted the issue, saying, “So, the problem in our house is that we make excuses and do not accept the reality we are dealing with.”
He further criticized the BJP and RSS, stating that they are incapable of envisioning the future. Rahul Gandhi said, “PM Modi tries to drive a car by looking in the rearview mirror, yet he fails to understand why the car is involved in accidents and not moving forward.” He emphasized that while you listen to ministers and the Prime Minister, you will never hear them discussing the future. They only talk about the past and always blame someone else for it.
Rahul Gandhi remarked, “BJP and RSS are incapable of envisioning the future because they never talk about it. They only talk about the past and always pass the blame to someone else.” He highlighted that there is a battle of ideologies between two factions in India – one represented by the Congress and the other by the BJP and RSS.
Describing the ongoing battle, Rahul Gandhi stated, “The simplest way to describe this fight is that on one side, there is Mahatma Gandhi, and on the other side, there is Nathuram Godse.” He further added, “When you look at the stalwarts who emerged from India, you can see that they possessed certain qualities. Firstly, they sought the truth, represented it, and fought for it. Secondly, all these individuals were humble and devoid of arrogance.” It is because of these qualities that Indians have succeeded in the United States. I respect and honor that.
