Satyapal Jain, a renowned legal expert and alumnus of Government College (PGGC), Sector-11, Chandigarh, led a tree-planting campaign. This event, held at PGGC-11, was organized with the support of the college’s NSS wing and Environmental Club, witnessing enthusiastic participation from students, teachers, and staff members.

In his address, Satyapal Jain emphasized the need for trees to maintain environmental balance and mitigate the adverse effects of urbanization. He appreciated the collective efforts of students and faculty in organizing the campaign and encouraged everyone to adopt sustainable practices in their daily lives. Jain’s commitment to environmental conservation was well demonstrated, and his participation in this campaign added significant value and inspiration for the participants.

Known for advocating green initiatives, Jain highlighted the crucial role of tree plantation in reducing climate change and improving air quality. Under the guidance of NSS Air Wing in-charge Dr. Rakesh Thakur, volunteers planted more than 200 plants. NSS cadets from the three wings planted various evergreen trees, including Neem, Peepal, and Banyan, aiming to create a green canopy that benefits both the campus and local biodiversity.

Principal Dr. B.P. Yadav of PGGC-11 expressed heartfelt thanks to Jain for his unwavering dedication and support towards environmental issues. He emphasized the importance of such initiatives in fostering a sense of responsibility towards the environment among the younger generation. This tree plantation campaign serves as a powerful reminder of the essential collective efforts needed for our planet’s protection and the significant impact of small actions in creating a greener future.

The event also saw the presence of several distinguished guests, including Dean Ms. Deeprikha, Vice-Principal Prof. Ram Arora, and Head of the Physics Department, Mr. Ranjan Pal. They lauded the green initiative and appreciated its social impact, emphasizing the importance of such efforts in ensuring a sustainable environment for future generations.
