Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has said that the life and philosophy of Shaheed Bhagat Singh will always inspire the youth to serve the country selflessly.
The Chief Minister while addressing the public meeting during the ‘Ek Sham Shaheedon ke Naam’ event here today said that innumerable sacrifices have been made to free the country from foreign imperialism. He said that we have not done anything for the country compared to these great revolutionaries. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the British did not loot India as much as the Indian governments looted during the post-independence period.
The Chief Minister said that now things are being streamlined and efforts are being made to make the state a leader in the country. He said that after 18 months of assuming office, his government is making continuous efforts to bring the state back on the path of development. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that we all should use our vote wisely, because the responsibility of building the country is on our shoulders.
The Chief Minister said that Shaheed Bhagat Singh had sacrificed for the motherland at a young age. He said that his great sacrifice inspired lakhs of youth to sacrifice their lives for the freedom of the country. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the group of youths should take inspiration from this great martyr to serve the nation selflessly.
The Chief Minister invited the youth to follow the footsteps of great national heroes and serve the country. He said that such gatherings should be held in every corner of the state so that the legacy of martyrs can be preserved forever. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the country is making all possible efforts to realize the dream of those martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the sake of motherland.
The Chief Minister said that great Sikh Gurus have taught us to fight against oppression, tyranny and injustice. He said that these teachings of Guru Sahibans need to be maintained for our future generations, so that the ancient glory of the state can be restored. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that Punjab has a rich heritage and our youth should know about it.
The Chief Minister also informed that the state government is opening eight hi-tech centers to train students for competitive examinations. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that this center provides UPSC to the youth. By passing the examinations, they will provide standard training to occupy good positions in the state and the country. He said that it is the goal of the state government that the youth serve the country by sitting in high positions.
Attacking the opposition parties, the Chief Minister said that the people who were living in palatial houses during their rule have been excluded from the political scene of the state. He said that the state has seen the dawn of a new era because people have shown the way out of power to these leaders known as Ajit. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that this is the only way to see a change in Punjab and it is the first time that the government is taking decisions focused on public welfare.
