SIT Report Reveals Punjab Government’s Deception on Gangster in Jail: Tarun Chugh

Amritsar, July 11 (Kumar Soni) BJP’s National General Secretary Tarun Chugh has criticized the Mann government in Punjab following revelations from a Special Investigation Team (SIT) report. Chugh questioned the government’s assertion that the interview with notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi took place abroad, not from a Punjab jail. He highlighted that the SIT findings clearly expose the government’s attempt to mislead the public, revealing that Punjab’s jails have become operational hubs for criminals. Chugh emphasized the deteriorating law and order situation in Punjab, citing incidents of murder, robbery, and extortion affecting various segments of society including women, youth, businessmen, and professionals, painting a grim picture of insecurity. He criticized Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann for neglecting governance in favor of political engagements, while accusing the Aam Aadmi Party government of failing to deliver on its promises made during its electoral campaign. Chugh pointed out the government’s inability to combat drug addiction, regularize temporary employees, empower women with financial aid, and curb mafia influence, despite being in power for 29 months. He concluded that the government’s ineffective policies have exacerbated the state’s challenges, leaving Punjab’s residents disillusioned and vulnerable.
