SJVN Enthusiastically Celebrates 10th International Yoga Day Across All Offices and Projects 

SHIMLA: 21.06.2024 – SJVN celebrated the 10th International Day of Yoga with great enthusiasm at all its offices and projects. The special yoga session at the SJVN Office in New Delhi was graced by Sh. Sushil Sharma, Chairman & Managing Director. The event was also attended by Sh. Akhileshwar Singh, Director (Finance), Sh. Pawan Verma, Executive Director (HR), and other senior officers of the company. This year’s theme, ‘Yoga for Self and Society,’ was at the forefront of the celebrations.

Sh. Sushil Sharma emphasized the importance of integrating yoga into daily life, urging all employees to adopt a healthy lifestyle. “We believe that a healthy workforce is the backbone of a productive organization. We are committed to the wellness of our employees through various initiatives, including wellness and yoga workshops. These efforts are crucial in raising awareness about the benefits of yoga.”

At the Corporate Headquarters in Shimla, a yoga session was organized for the employees in collaboration with the Isha Foundation. The session was led by Sh. Ajay Sharma, General Manager (HR), with enthusiastic participation from the employees.

Yoga, a 5,000-year-old tradition from India, combines physical, mental, and spiritual practices to achieve harmony of the body and mind. At the behest of Hon’ble Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi, the United Nations General Assembly declared June 21st as the International Day of Yoga on September 27, 2014. It is believed that from June 21st, the sun starts its journey towards the south and the heat begins to subside, making this day beneficial for practicing yoga and spirituality for the mind, body, and soul.
