SJVN Launches Swachhata Hi Sewa 2024 Campaign with Walkathon and Cleanliness Drive in Shimla

SJVN (Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam Limited) is actively participating in the Swachhata Hi Sewa 2024 initiative from September 17 to October 2, 2024, by organizing a series of events aimed at promoting environmental preservation and community engagement. A Walkathon and Cleanliness Drive were held in Shimla, emphasizing the importance of cleanliness and active community participation. The event was attended by key officials including Director Personnel (designate) Sh. Ajay Kumar Sharma, Executive Directors Sh. S. Maraswamy and Sh. Chandra Shekhar Yadav, alongside employees of SJVN and students from Government High School (GHS), Navbahar.

The Walkathon commenced at the SJVN Office Complex and concluded at Dhobi Ghat, Chotta Shimla, with around 150 enthusiastic participants carrying forward the message of cleanliness and environmental stewardship. Following the Walkathon, a comprehensive Cleanliness Drive was conducted at Dhobi Ghat in collaboration with the Municipal Corporation of Shimla’s Sanitation Workers, aimed at enhancing sanitation facilities and raising community awareness regarding cleanliness.

In addition to these activities, a Poster-Making Competition was organized on September 24, 2024, which saw the participation of 60 students from GHS Navbahar. The winners were recognized by Sh. Ajay Kumar Sharma for their outstanding creativity and commitment to promoting cleanliness. These initiatives reflect SJVN’s dedication to fostering a cleaner, greener environment while encouraging local community involvement.
