THDC India Leads Swachh Bharat Abhiyan Initiative in Rishikesh

Rishikesh, 20.09.2024: In line with the Government of India’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, THDC India Limited organized a cleanliness drive at the Yognagari Railway Station in Rishikesh on September 20, 2024. The event was part of the nationwide Swachhta Hi Seva-2024 fortnight, which is being observed from September 17 to October 2, 2024.

R.K. Vishnoi, Chairman and Managing Director of THDC India Limited, emphasized the importance of cleanliness and hygiene. He highlighted that the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is not just a government initiative but a collective responsibility of every citizen. Vishnoi urged everyone to contribute to maintaining a clean environment and inspire others to do the same.

Shailendra Singh, Director (Personnel) of THDC India Limited, informed that the Yognagari Railway Station has been adopted by THDC India under the Swachhta Mission to ensure its cleanliness and beautification. He further added that this initiative is a step towards fostering a sense of collective responsibility and promoting cleanliness in the community.

Approximately 95 individuals participated in the cleanliness drive, which was inaugurated by the General Manager (Social and Environment), Amardeep, and OSD, Mahesh Chand Ramola. The event was attended by several other officials of THDC India Limited, including V.P. Ratudi, Sujit Pandey, B.S. Negi, Dharamprakash, Anamika Buda koti, and Pradeep Ghildiyal.

The Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, launched by the Government of India in 2014, aims to achieve universal sanitation coverage and eliminate open defecation. THDC India’s participation in this initiative demonstrates the company’s commitment to corporate social responsibility and its dedication towards building a cleaner and healthier India.
