THDC India Makes Huge Leap in Bringing Online India’s Largest Hydro Power Complex!

Rishikesh, January 5, 2024: Major progress has been made by THDC India Limited, a leading power sector player, in bringing India’s largest Hydro Power Complex – the 2400 MW Tehri Power Complex – online. A critical milestone was achieved on January 4th, 2024, with the successful placement of the Butterfly Valve (BFV) for the first unit  of the 1000 MW Tehri Pumped Storage Project (PSP).

This significant step marks a major advancement in reaching full operational capacity for the complex, which already boasts the successfully operating 1000 MW Tehri Hydro Power Plant (HPP) and 400 MW Koteshwar HEP.

Celebrating a Team Effort:

Chairman and Managing Director of THDC India Limited, Sh. R. K. Vishnoi, commended the dedication of the Tehri PSP team, expressing his congratulations for their contributions to this achievement. He emphasized that the successful placement of the BFV reinforces project progress and paves the way for the next development phases.
