THDCIL and GMVN Collaborate to Set Up Electric Vehicle Charging Stations for Char Dham Yatra Route in Uttarakhand

Rishikesh, 19th October 2023:

Mr. R. K. Vishnoi, Chairman and Managing Director of THDC India Limited (THDCIL), announced a significant partnership on the 18th of October 2023. THDCIL and Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam Ltd. (GMVN) have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at establishing Electric Vehicle Charging Stations at 14 guest houses owned by GMVN along the Char Dham Yatra route in Uttarakhand.

Mr. Vishnoi underscored the importance of this collaboration, emphasizing that it will promote the use of electric vehicles on this sacred pilgrimage route, ultimately contributing to a reduction in pollution. The joint effort between THDCIL and GMVN demonstrates their commitment to making these charging stations operational before the commencement of the Char Dham Yatra next year.

This initiative marks a significant step towards embracing sustainable and eco-friendly transportation options in Uttarakhand, aligning with broader environmental and conservation goals.

The MoU signing ceremony saw Mr. Praveen Saxena, General Manager (Business Development) representing THDCIL, while Mr. Rakesh Saklani, AGM (Tourism), represented GMVN. The event was attended by Mr. Vinod Giri Goswami, IAS, the Managing Director of GMVN, and other senior officials from both organizations.
