The Paragliding Pre-World Cup is set to take place in Bir-Billing from April 5th to April 9th, 2023, after a long hiatus. This world-renowned paragliding site, located in Baijnath in Kangra district near here , has gained global recognition due to its exceptional paragliding opportunities. Chief Parliamentary Secretary Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Rural Development, and Panchayati Raj Kishori Lal announced the event and urged all department heads to support its successful organization.
During his visit to Bir Billing, the CPS also inspected the construction work of the Paragliding School and announced that it would be the first institute in the world to provide paragliding training. He also promised that better facilities for training paraglide pilots would soon be available, and tourism in the area would receive a significant boost. The CPS also revealed that Chief Minister Mr. Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu would be invited to inaugurate the Paragliding School in the near future.
Anurag Sharma, the director of Bir-Billing Paragliding Association, stated that Bir-Billing is the second-best paragliding site in the world and the best in Asia. He added that 125 paragliding participants from all over the world would be attending the event, with 95 pilots already registered.
The Paragliding Pre-World Cup is a significant event that will attract paragliding enthusiasts from all over the world. It will not only showcase the beauty of Bir Billing but also provide an opportunity for the region to develop its tourism industry.
