Tragic Collision in Punjab’s Ferozepur District Claims Nine Lives

In a devastating accident on Friday morning, a pick-up van collided with a canter truck near Golu ka Mour village in Punjab’s Ferozepur district, resulting in nine fatalities and multiple injuries. The incident occurred in the Guruharsahai sub-division amidst dense fog, which significantly reduced visibility.

The pick-up van was transporting over 20 individuals, primarily waiters en route to a function in Jalalabad. Due to the foggy conditions, the van driver lost control, leading to a head-on collision with the truck. Emergency response teams from the Sadak Suraksha Force (SSF) promptly arrived at the scene to conduct rescue operations. The injured were initially taken to nearby hospitals in Guruharsahai and Jalalabad. Those with critical injuries were later referred to Guru Gobind Singh Medical College in Faridkot for advanced treatment.

This tragic event underscores the dangers of reduced visibility due to fog, a common occurrence in northern India during the winter months. Authorities are urging drivers to exercise caution and adhere to safety protocols to prevent such incidents in the future.
