Chandigarh, December 6, 2022:
Haryana Governor Shri Bandaru Dattatraya on Tuesday paid his humble tribute to Bharat Ratna and Father of Indian Constitution Dr BR Ambedkar on his punyatithi at Raj Bhavan here. His sacrifice, struggle and vision for the empowerment of oppressed sections of society will inspire us for ages to come, said Shri Dattatraya.
The Haryana Governor said: “Dr Ambedkar was equally concerned about women’s empowerment, which is amply reflected in his famous quote – ‘I measure the progress of a community by the degree of progress which women have achieved.’ He was a visionary, thinker, lawyer, freedom fighter and statesman.”
Shri Dattatraya said that Dr Ambedkar fought for social justice and represents the aspirations of over 130 crore Indians. He was equally concerned about women’s empowerment, which is amply reflected in his famous quote – ‘I measure the progress of a community by the degree of progress which women have achieved,” added Shri Dattatraya.
“As we all are engaged in building a new India – vibrant, self-reliant and resilient – we need to draw inspiration from the ideals and teachings of Dr Ambedkar, which are so well enshrined in our Constitution and we should continue spreading the message of equality, justice, fraternity and liberty,” said Shri Dattatraya.
