Punjab Police Busts Target Killing Module Linked to Gangster Goldy Dhillon, Two Arrested with Arms and Drugs

In a significant breakthrough against organized crime, the Punjab Police have dismantled a target killing module linked to foreign-based gangster Goldy Dhillon, arresting two of its operatives in Rajpura. The crackdown, carried out as part of an ongoing mission to maintain law and order in Punjab, was executed by the Patiala Police under the leadership of Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav. This operation aligns with the directives of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, who has been advocating for a crime-free Punjab.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Malkit Singh alias Max, originally from Rodala village in Ajnala, Amritsar, and presently residing in Sempali village, Fatehgarh Sahib, along with Sandeep Singh alias Deep, a resident of Sirhind in Fatehgarh Sahib. Both individuals were allegedly assigned the task of executing targeted assassinations in Mohali and Rajpura under direct orders from their handler, Goldy Dhillon.

The police recovered a significant cache of weapons from the accused, including five pistols—three .32 caliber, one .30 caliber, and one .315 caliber country-made pistol—along with 15 live cartridges. Additionally, 1,300 intoxicant tablets were seized from their possession, reinforcing their suspected involvement in drug-related activities. Authorities also impounded a black Honda Activa scooter (PB 23 AA 0795) used for their criminal operations.

According to DGP Gaurav Yadav, preliminary investigations indicate that both individuals were already wanted in multiple criminal cases related to extortion. Their criminal history includes charges under the NDPS Act, Arms Act, attempt to murder, dacoity, and snatching. Intelligence inputs suggest that their foreign-based handlers provided specific instructions to carry out high-profile target killings in Punjab, further escalating security concerns.

The operation was conducted by a special team from Rajpura, led by Inspector Harry Boparai, after receiving intelligence about a drug delivery being planned along the Sirhind-Rajpura road. Acting on this crucial lead, the team swiftly launched an intelligence-driven operation and successfully apprehended both suspects. The arrest not only prevented an imminent target killing plot but also disrupted an illegal arms and narcotics distribution network.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Nanak Singh confirmed that two prominent individuals were on the hit list of the arrested suspects. These individuals had received threatening calls from gangster Goldy Dhillon, and the accused were reportedly preparing to execute a high-profile assassination in Rajpura. Further investigations are now underway to trace the network’s backward and forward linkages, with authorities expecting more arrests and recoveries in the coming days.

A case has been registered under FIR no. 13 dated 19/2/2025 at Police Station Sadar Rajpura, Patiala, under Section 22 of the NDPS Act and Section 25 of the Arms Act. The Punjab Police, under the guidance of DGP Gaurav Yadav, remains committed to dismantling organized crime networks operating within the state and ensuring a safe and secure environment for its citizens.
