Shimla:
Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu extended a warm welcome to Smt. Sonia Gandhi, Chairperson of the Congress Parliamentary Party and senior Congress leader, upon her arrival in Shimla on Friday.
Sonia Gandhi reached the hill state on a brief visit to review party affairs and meet senior leaders and workers. The Chief Minister personally received her with flowers and exchanged greetings at the state guest house, marking a cordial beginning to her visit.
Officials and senior party leaders were also present at the venue to welcome the veteran leader, reflecting the Congress’s unity and organizational strength in Himachal Pradesh.
During her stay, Sonia Gandhi is expected to hold informal discussions on the party’s performance, future strategy, and the upcoming local body elections. Chief Minister Sukhu expressed his gratitude for her visit and said that her presence would inspire the Congress cadre across the state.
