CM Sukhu Distributes Compensation to Bilaspur Disaster Victims, Condemns BJP’s Mismanagement

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today distributed compensation to 1162 families affected by the recent disaster in Bilaspur district. He also condemned the previous BJP government for economic mismanagement and urged BJP National President Jagat Prakash Nadda to support Himachal in getting a fair share of royalty from BBMB power projects.

The Chief Minister said that the state government was committed to rehabilitating all 16,000 families affected by the disaster. He said that the government had brought a special package of Rs 4,500 crore for this purpose, which includes increased compensation for house damage, free electricity and water connections, and subsidized cement for construction.

Sukhu also criticized the previous BJP government for leaving the state treasury almost empty and for accumulating a debt burden of Rs 75,000 crore. He said that the present government was making strong efforts to bring the economy of the state back on track.

On the issue of royalty from BBMB power projects, the Chief Minister said that Himachal was entitled to 12 per cent royalty, but the BJP government had been denying the state its due share. He urged Nadda to use his influence to get the central government to release the pending royalty payments.

The Chief Minister also highlighted the state government’s efforts to develop Bilaspur district. He said that the government was planning to start water sports activities in Govind Sagar Lake and lay the foundation stone for a sewage scheme worth Rs 100 crore.

Sukhu’s speech was well-received by the disaster-affected families, who expressed their gratitude to the government for its support. They also appreciated the Chief Minister’s criticism of the previous BJP government and his commitment to getting Himachal its fair share of royalty from BBMB power projects.
