CM Sukhu Inaugurates and Lays Foundation Stones for Development Projects Worth ₹43.64 Crore in Sujanpur

Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu reinforced his commitment to the infrastructural and developmental progress of Himachal Pradesh by inaugurating and laying foundation stones for ten major projects worth ₹43.64 crore in Sujanpur. These projects, aimed at enhancing educational facilities, healthcare infrastructure, and connectivity, mark a significant step towards the region’s modernization and overall development.

A key highlight of the event was the foundation stone laying ceremony of the Rajiv Gandhi Model Day Boarding School at Karot. The project, estimated to cost ₹20.18 crore, is expected to transform the education system in the area by providing students with a modern, well-equipped learning environment. The establishment of this high-end school aligns with the government’s vision of setting up advanced educational institutions across various constituencies, ensuring quality education and better facilities for students.

In addition to improving the education sector, Chief Minister Sukhu also focused on strengthening the water supply system in Sujanpur. He inaugurated the lift water supply scheme at Salghuoon Ghatta in Gram Panchayat Karot, which was constructed at a cost of ₹1.42 crore. This initiative is set to improve access to clean and safe drinking water for residents, addressing a crucial need for sustainable water infrastructure in the region.

Recognizing the importance of enhancing school infrastructure, the Chief Minister inaugurated an additional accommodation facility and a library hall in Government Senior Secondary School, Kuthera. The project, completed at an investment of ₹86 lakh, aims to create a better academic environment for students, promoting both learning and research. Another major development in the education sector was the inauguration of a ₹1.25 crore science laboratory at Government Senior Secondary School, Pounch, which will provide students with advanced resources to conduct experiments and gain practical scientific knowledge.

The Chief Minister also inaugurated significant healthcare infrastructure projects to improve medical services in Sujanpur. He inaugurated residential accommodations worth ₹1.78 crore for doctors at the Community Health Center (CHC) in Sujanpur Tihra, ensuring better living conditions for medical professionals. Additionally, ₹1.42 crore was invested in constructing government quarters for paramedical staff at the same CHC, ensuring that healthcare workers have access to quality housing, which will ultimately enhance their efficiency and service delivery.

In his push for better connectivity and improved transportation facilities, CM Sukhu laid the foundation stone for the construction of a new Sujanpur bus stand at Ward No. 4 Doli, a project worth ₹5.45 crore. The development of this modern bus stand will facilitate improved public transportation, ease of travel, and better accessibility for the residents of Sujanpur and surrounding areas.

Further strengthening road connectivity, he laid the foundation stone for the ₹8.37 crore link road connecting Bakkar Khud to Village Thalamber in Gram Panchayat Bherda. This road is expected to improve mobility for the local population, promoting economic activities and making travel more convenient for residents. Another vital road infrastructure project, the ₹2.67 crore link road connecting Puyad to Tikkari via Dharli, also saw its foundation stone being laid. These connectivity projects are designed to support rural development, enabling residents to access essential services and economic opportunities with ease.

In addition to these, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for a ₹24 lakh lift water supply scheme catering to multiple villages in Chabutra, Tehsil Sujanpur. This project is expected to enhance the water supply network, ensuring a steady and reliable water source for the people living in the region.

Speaking at the event, Chief Minister Sukhu emphasized that these development projects would serve as a milestone in enhancing the quality of life in Sujanpur. He reiterated his government’s focus on holistic growth, ensuring that essential services, including education, healthcare, transportation, and water supply, are accessible to all. These projects align with the government’s broader vision of creating a well-connected, educated, and developed Himachal Pradesh, with a strong emphasis on sustainable infrastructure and public welfare.
