Election Commission of India Revises Schedule for Special Summary Revision of Photo Electoral Roll in Chandigarh

The Election Commission of India (ECI) has revised the schedule for the Special Summary Revision of Photo Electoral Roll in Chandigarh, with reference to 01.01.2024 as the qualifying date.

The Draft Electoral Roll 2024 will be published on October 27, 2023. Claims and objections will be received from October 27 to December 9, 2023. BLOs will be present at their respective polling stations on special campaign days, November 18-19, 2023 and December 2-3, 2023.

The ECI has also proposed to increase the number of polling stations in Chandigarh from 597 to 614. Political parties have been asked to submit their suggestions or feedback on the proposed list of polling stations by October 6, 2023.

This revision of the electoral roll is important for ensuring that all eligible voters are able to cast their votes in the upcoming elections. Citizens are urged to check their names in the draft electoral roll and submit any claims or objections they may have.
