Haryana CM Naib Singh Saini Discusses Yamuna Surplus Water Sharing with Union Minister and Rajasthan CM

New Delhi, January 7: Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini met Union Jal Shakti Minister C.R. Patil and Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma to discuss a project to utilize surplus Yamuna river water for Rajasthan. A joint task force comprising officials from both states will soon be formed to draft the Detailed Project Report (DPR). This initiative aims to channel the excess water from Hathni Kund Barrage during monsoons to meet Rajasthan’s drinking water needs. The Union Minister also assured technical support for addressing waterlogging (seepage) issues in Haryana, with a team of experts set to visit the state.
