Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini Leads Relief Efforts for Flood-Affected States

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has announced that his government has already dispatched Rs 5 crore each to flood-hit Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu & Kashmir as immediate assistance. The state government is committed to supporting its neighboring states in this hour of crisis.

Relief Material Dispatch

On Wednesday, CM Saini flagged off 20 trucks carrying relief material for Punjab from Pipli grain market in Kurukshetra. The trucks were dispatched to different districts, carrying essential items such as:

  • Food and Beverages: pulses, rice, water, juice, and pickles
  • Medical Aid: medical kits and mosquito nets
  • Shelter and Livestock Support: tarpaulins, green fodder for animals, and bran

Central Government Support

Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently visited flood-affected areas of Punjab and Himachal Pradesh and announced a financial aid of Rs 3100 crore, which includes¹:

  • Punjab: Rs 1600 crore
  • Himachal Pradesh: Rs 1500 crore

Support for Affected Farmers

In Haryana, the government is providing compensation to citizens and farmers in water-logged areas. The e-Kshatipurti portal has been opened for affected citizens to submit their applications. So far, over 3.24 lakh farmers from 5786 villages have registered crop damage over 19.22 lakh acres.

Compensation and Assistance

The state government has provided:

  • Immediate Assistance: Rs 4 lakh to families who lost loved ones in the floods
  • Crop Damage Compensation: Rs 15500 crore has been given to farmers for crop damage over the past 10.5 years

Call for Support

CM Saini has appealed to all officials and employees of the state government to contribute to the Haryana Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to support flood victims. He also congratulated and extended best wishes to the newly elected Vice-President of India, C.P. Radhakrishnan.
