Chairman Himmat Singh reviews examination preparations; inspection of centres begins to ensure transparent conduct and better facilities for candidates
Panchkula : The Haryana government has stepped up preparations to advance its recruitment drive, with the Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) expediting arrangements for the Common Eligibility Test (CET) Stage-II examination linked to approximately 14,000 posts. An advertisement for around 8,000 additional vacancies is also expected to be issued soon, HSSC Chairman Himmat Singh said on Wednesday.
The developments signal continued movement on recruitment for government jobs in Haryana, where employment opportunities remain a major concern for young people preparing for competitive examinations. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, the state government has highlighted recruitment and employment generation as important components of its administrative agenda. The next stages of the HSSC process will be closely watched by aspirants seeking opportunities in government departments.
Singh said the Commission was pursuing recruitment and examination-related work in a planned and transparent manner, following the prescribed rules. He stressed that preparations for CET Stage-II were being advanced to ensure that the examination could be conducted with the necessary infrastructure and administrative arrangements in place.
As part of this exercise, inspections of examination centres have begun on the chairman’s directions. On Wednesday, HSSC member Subhash Chandra, accompanied by a team, visited examination centres in the Kalka-Pinjore area of Panchkula district. The team assessed the facilities available at the venues and reviewed their readiness for the examination.
According to the chairman, the inspections are intended to identify shortcomings in advance and reduce the possibility of candidates facing difficulties on examination day. The Commission plans to inspect centres in Panchkula and other districts in the coming days as part of the wider preparation exercise.
A committee will compile a report on the inspections and submit its findings to the Commission. The report will help determine what further steps are required to ensure that examination venues have the necessary arrangements before candidates arrive. The exercise is also intended to support the orderly conduct of the recruitment process.
The proposed advertisement for approximately 8,000 additional vacancies is another development that job aspirants will be watching closely. However, the exact number of posts, departmental distribution, eligibility conditions and application schedule will depend on the formal recruitment notification. Candidates should therefore rely on the official advertisement for details rather than unofficial messages circulating on social media.
For Haryana’s job seekers, the CET Stage-II preparations and the expected vacancies represent important steps in the recruitment pipeline. The actual timeline for appointments will depend on the completion of the examination process, subsequent selection stages and other prescribed formalities.
Singh urged candidates to prepare seriously and remain attentive to official announcements. He also warned aspirants against rumours and unverified claims, emphasising that information regarding examinations and recruitment would be communicated through the Commission’s official channels.
With examination-centre inspections now under way, the immediate focus is on ensuring that the CET Stage-II process moves forward in a well-organised manner. For the government and the Commission, the key test will be to maintain transparency, provide clear information and complete recruitment procedures according to the rules—while giving candidates a reliable opportunity to compete for public-sector jobs in Haryana.
