Nurpur Police have arrested Ajit Kumar, a key accused in a high-profile online fraud case, from Khetalpura, Bihar. The arrest follows a complaint filed by Kuldeep Raj Gupta of Jasoor on April 8, 2025, reporting that unknown fraudsters had illegally withdrawn ₹3,56,799 from his bank account via online means.

Superintendent of Police Ashok Rattan explained that swift and professional investigative work, backed by thorough evidence analysis, led to the identification of the cybercrime suspects. Special police teams were deployed across various states to track them down.

The arrest of Ajit Kumar, son of Kanta Paswan, marks a significant breakthrough in the ongoing case. Further legal proceedings are underway.

In a separate development, the Nurpur Police have intensified their crackdown on narcotics. On October 16, 2024, during a checkpoint at Kandwal, officers seized 109.52 grams of heroin from Ravi Kumar and his wife Shilpa, residents of Jhajwa village in Kangra district. Following financial investigations, authorities confiscated movable and immovable assets worth ₹16,33,574 from the couple. The seizure was officially confirmed by the competent authority in New Delhi on June 4, 2025.

SP Ashok Ratan highlighted that since June 10, 2024, Nurpur Police have confiscated properties totaling over ₹17.88 crore from suspects involved in illegal drug trade across 10 cases. Several other cases remain under review by Delhi authorities.
