“PM Modi’s Farmer-Friendly Decision: MSP for Kharif Crops Increased”

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for increasing the Minimum Support Price (MSP) of Kharif crops for the marketing season 2025-26. This decision is seen as another farmer-friendly step towards doubling farmers’ income. The MSP for various crops has been increased, with notable hikes including:

  • Sunflower: MSP increased from ₹7,280 to ₹7,721 per quintal, representing a 109% rise since 2013-14
  • Paddy (Common): MSP increased from ₹2,300 to ₹2,369 per quintal, marking an 81% increase since 2013-14
  • Paddy (Grade A): MSP increased from ₹2,320 to ₹2,389 per quintal, an 78% rise since 2013-14
  • Moong: MSP increased from ₹8,682 to ₹8,768 per quintal, a 95% increase since 2013-14
  • Bajra: MSP increased from ₹2,625 to ₹2,775 per quintal, a 122% rise since 2013-14
  • Ragi: MSP increased from ₹4,290 to ₹4,886 per quintal, a 226% increase since 2013-14
  • Tur/Arhar: MSP increased from ₹7,550 to ₹8,000 per quintal, an 86% rise since 2013-14
  • Urad: MSP increased from ₹7,400 to ₹7,800 per quintal, an 81% increase since 2013-14
  • Groundnut: MSP increased from ₹6,783 to ₹7,263 per quintal, an 82% rise since 2013-14
  • Soybean: MSP increased from ₹4,892 to ₹5,328 per quintal, a 108% increase since 2013-14

This decision will enable farmers to choose crops that can yield higher profits, thereby supporting their financial stability. The Haryana government has been proactive in supporting farmers, having announced the purchase of 23 crops at MSP earlier.¹
