Scorching Heat Grips Punjab: Temperature Soars to 43 Degrees Celsius
As the sun god flexed his muscles at the start of May, the thirst for human life became evident. By noon, the mercury had reached 45 degrees Celsius, forcing people to huddle indoors to escape the scorching heat. While the main roads of the city were deserted, a mere trickle of customers could be seen in the main markets. This clearly shows that the heat has started to show its effect.
With the continuous rise in temperature, the feeling of heat has started to be felt. For the past week, the weather had remained cool due to the frequent changes. Recently, due to the activation of the western disturbance, the temperature was not expanding. While the night temperature was between 18 and 19 degrees Celsius, the day temperature remained around 30 degrees Celsius. However, now the maximum temperature is being recorded at 40.6 degrees Celsius even during the day and there has been a rise in the night temperature as well.
According to weather experts, there is a possibility of clear weather for the next 5 days. Along with this, there will be further expansion in the temperature. The continuous increase in temperature during the day is bound to affect the work to be done.
To protect from the heatstroke, eye specialist Dr. D V Singh said that people should cover their mouth with a wet cloth and wear glasses on their eyes and wash their eyes with cold water repeatedly. This will keep the moisture in the eyes intact.
