Shimla : Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has called upon students to approach their future with confidence, determination and the courage to make independent decisions, stressing that hard work and self-belief are essential to achieving success in life.
Interacting with students at PM SHRI Government Model Senior Secondary School, Tissa, in Chamba district, the Chief Minister encouraged them to pursue their ambitions without hesitation, irrespective of the career path they choose. He particularly urged girls to step forward and establish themselves in every sphere, including education, sports and politics.
The interaction turned into an engaging exchange when Tamanna, a Class 12 student, asked him about the importance of decision-making. Responding to her question, Sukhu said that taking decisions fearlessly was crucial for personal growth and progress. He observed that challenges were inevitable at different stages of life, but those who recognised the right moment and acted with courage could shape their own future.
“Success is built through hard work, self-confidence and courage,” was the central message he conveyed to the students, urging them to remain focused on their goals and not allow uncertainty or fear to hold them back.
The Chief Minister also assured the young participants that his government was working to ensure a fair and transparent environment in which young people could advance on the strength of their talent, capabilities and merit, rather than facing barriers to opportunity.
Several students used the occasion to raise questions on issues concerning their education and future. Monika, a Class 12 student, sought to know what measures the government was taking to prevent drug abuse among young people. Muskan asked about initiatives to improve the standard of education and strengthen facilities in government schools, while Jeevani showed interest in the Chief Minister’s daily routine.
A Class 4 student, Apeksha Bhardwaj, asked Sukhu about his favourite subject. Prajwal, another Class 12 student, expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for securing CBSE affiliation for Tissa School, describing it as an important development for students of the area.
Responding to the infrastructure-related demands raised by students, Sukhu announced a grant of ₹3 crore for the construction of a laboratory and additional classrooms at Bairagarh School. The proposed facilities are expected to strengthen the school’s academic infrastructure and provide students with improved opportunities for classroom learning and practical education.
Earlier, Principal Ghanshyam welcomed the Chief Minister and presented an overview of the school’s activities and achievements.
MLA Neeraj Nayar, Himachal Pradesh Haj Committee Chairman Dildar Ali Bhatt, Congress General Secretary Yashwant Khanna and other dignitaries were present during the interaction.
