Govt. High (Smart) School, Sector 50 B, Chandigarh in collaboration with the Chandigarh Commission for Protection of Child Rights (CCPCR) organized Mock Parliament under ‘Girls India Project’ of CCPCR on the occasion of the Inaugural Function of the Primary section and Science Park on 19.05.2022. Mrs. Ravinder Kaur, Deputy Director School Education, Cluster Resource Coordinator, and teachers from GSSS – 45 A were also present at the event. The activities conducted by the students of GHS 50 under the ‘Girls India Project’ were projected. Students beautifully depicted the President’s session followed by the list of business of the house – the Question Hour, Call Attention Motion followed by the bill for consideration in Mock Parliament. A skit on child’s Rights creating awareness against child exploitation was presented by students of class 6th and 7th.
While congratulating the whole team of Govt. High (Smart) School, Sector 50-B Ms. Harjinder Kaur, Chairperson, CCPCR highlighted that setting up a science park will be beneficial for students to be familiar with different science concepts in an easier way. By participating in Mock parliaments, students can enhance their communication skills as well as awareness ability.
Ms. Parminder Kaur, Headmistress extended a vote of thanks to all. She further thanked the Chairperson, of CCPCR for their cooperation in creating a safe environment for students.
