
CM Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu Reviews Energy Projects, Promotes Green Energy and Hydro Power Tourism

Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu reviewed the progress of various ongoing projects under the Energy Department and emphasized the State Government’s commitment to harnessing more green energy.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister highlighted several key projects, including the establishment of a one MW Green Hydrogen Project at Nalagarh in Solan district. Additionally, a 32 MW Solar Power Project at Pekhubela in Una district was commissioned within a record six months, with two more similar projects under construction in Una, which will soon be inaugurated.
CM Sukhu stressed the importance of promoting hydro power tourism to provide self-employment and job opportunities to local youth. He informed that a policy would soon be formulated to support this initiative, and training would be provided to power project developers through the Energy Department.
The Chief Minister directed the HP State Electricity Board Limited (HPSEBL) to expedite the construction of the Devi Kothi and Hail Power Projects immediately. He also stressed the need to re-advertise non-responsive hydro projects to fully utilize the state’s hydro power generation potential.
Furthermore, CM Sukhu reviewed pending high-stake cases, including JSW, Shanan, and arrears of the Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB). He instructed the concerned officers to pursue these cases vigorously and accelerate the pump storage projects.
The meeting was attended by key officials, including Industries Minister Harshwardhan Chauhan, Chief Minister’s Principal Advisor Ram Subhag Singh, Secretary Rakesh Kanwar, MD HPSEBL Sandeep Kumar, and Directors from various energy-related departments.
This initiative is set to boost sustainable energy development and job creation in Himachal Pradesh.
