The Himachal Pradesh government has issued a notification approving the recruitment of 1226 constables in the state police department. – Chamba: 62 male constables, 27 female constables, and four drivers.
– Hamirpur: 54 male constables, 23 female constables, and four drivers.
– Kangra: 180 male constables, 77 female constables, and 12 drivers.
– Kinnaur: 10 male constables, four female constables, and one driver.
– Kullu: 52 male constables, 22 female constables, and four drivers.
– Lahaul-Spiti: Four male constables, two female constables.
– Mandi: 119 male constables, 51 female constables, and eight drivers.
– Shimla: 97 male constables, 42 female constables, and seven drivers.
– Sirmaur: 63 male constables, 27 female constables, and five drivers.
– Solan: 69 male constables, 30 female constables, and five drivers.
– Una: 62 male constables, 27 female constables, and four drivers.

Under the new rules, all new police recruits will undergo four months of commando training in addition to regular training. Eligibility for constable positions requires candidates to have completed 10th or 12th grade from Himachal Pradesh schools. The constable recruitment process reserves 30% of positions for women. The selection criteria involve a written exam of 100 marks, where males need to complete a 1500-meter run in 3 minutes and 30 seconds, and females a 800-meter run in 3 minutes and 45 seconds.
