Pro-Khalistan graffiti defaces govt office wall in Dharamshala

A wall outside a government office in Dharamshala, Kangra district, was defaced with pro-Khalistan graffiti on Wednesday. The graffiti read “Khalistan Zindabad” (Long live Khalistan). The police have launched an investigation into the incident.

Khalistan is a proposed Sikh state that would be carved out of India. The Khalistan movement was active in the 1980s and 1990s, but it has largely died down in recent years. However, there have been occasional outbreaks of violence by pro-Khalistan groups.

The defacement of the government office wall in Dharamshala is a worrying sign that the Khalistan movement may be reviving. The police need to investigate this incident thoroughly and identify the culprits.
